Message from the Interim Dean

The world of learning and discovery is moving faster than ever, and 10-15 months is the new five to seven years. This pace of change is exciting and holds the promise of great new opportunities in all we do. We can't, and won't, stand still.

Our faculty will continue their great research and teaching, while earning awards and accolades. Our students dazzle with their enthusiasm and love for all things technology and engineering, as they continue their learning journey. We – the faculty, staff and students of the Samueli School of Engineering – know that there are few honors greater than being in the service of learning and discovery, and we cherish the privilege.

We encourage you to explore our school, its outreach and student support programs in the Office of Outreach, Access and Inclusion, and our beyond-the-classroom, hands-on activities through the Office for Experiential Learning and its makerspace. But most importantly, I urge you to learn more about our six departments, as that is where most of our core mission is accomplished.

Cheers,
Faryar Jabbari, Ph.D.
