FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Feb. 24, 2004 MEDIA ADVISORY HYDROGEN-FUELED VEHICLE DELIVERED TO UCI EVENT: The National Fuel Cell Research Center at UCI, which oversees the fuel cell program, will lease the second vehicle to Irvine-based Horiba Instruments, as it did the first one a year ago. Executives from Horiba Instruments will drive the SUV daily and provide real-world data on the functionality and capabilities of hydrogen vehicles. The Toyota hybrid is based on the popular Toyota Highlander SUV and uses a combination of an electric motor and a hydrogen fuel cell.
