Fred Tzeng, Ph.D., the President and co-founder of ZeroWatt Technologies, a company that spun out from UC Irvine focused on providing extremely low power analog-to-digital converters . He is the inventor behind the core technology of ZeroWatt, and a pioneer of compression-based ADCs. Dr. Tzeng has a strong background in mixed signal/analog/RF integrated circuits, where research has resulted in more than 10 technical publications, 5 filed patents, and several academic and industry awards. He serves as the PI for an NSF SBIR Phase I award to work on compression-ADCs for sensor applications. He also serves as a consultant to Nurotron Biotechnology on developing ADCs for hearing aid chips. He has previously held positions at GE Global Research and at Qualcomm.
The Entrepreneurship Seminar Series provides a real-world introduction to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship. Through a series of presentations by prestigious entrepreneurs and industry leaders, participants will explore the various organizational, strategic and financial challenges facing successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs. Topics include start-up strategies, business idea evaluation, business plan writing, and introduction to venture capital.
