Bio: Nizan Friedman is co-founder and president of Flint Rehabilitation Devices, a company focused on developing and productizing therapeutic rehabilitation devices for motor repair and human sensing. As president, he oversees all daily operations and is responsible for creating, communicating and implementing the organization’s vision, mission and overall direction.
Friedman has extensive experience creating and manufacturing wearable sensor and human monitoring technology. He is proficient in embedded systems development, printed circuit board hardware development and microcontroller firmware development, and has extensive knowledge in creating human interface devices.
Friedman has founded several companies and successfully commercialized several products at Flint Rehabilitation Devices, LLC and as CEO at inXus Interactive, LLC. He has experience working with manufacturers both in the U.S. and eastern Asia to create consumer-level products that have been sold and distributed through both fulfillment centers and online retailers. He has served as the Principal Investigator on several SBIR grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Education.
Friedman earned a B.S. in molecular biology from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, and a doctorate in biomedical engineering from UC Irvine.
The Entrepreneurship Seminar Series provides a real-world introduction to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship. Through a series of presentations by prestigious entrepreneurs and industry leaders, participants will explore the various organizational, strategic and financial challenges facing successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs. Topics include start-up strategies, business idea evaluation, business plan writing, and introduction to venture capital.
